Update: Sean Marks wasn't a member of the Charlotte Bobcats very long, but Joel Pryzbilla might be.

Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer is reporting the Bobcats plan to release Marks, while Pryzbilla will report. There has been no word yet if the Bobcats will buy him out. Bonnell has the rest here: "MoPete,Marks Already History"

Aaron Brooks
said he didn't want out of Houston. That did little to sway the Rockets from trading the former Oregon standout point guard to the Phoenix Suns for Goran Dragic. Brooks recently had a falling out with Rick Adelman and earned himself a one-game suspension, leaving Brooks' name to make the rounds during the NBA trade deadline.

The Suns snatched him up, as detailed by The Arizona Republic.

"We are excited to add Aaron Brooks to our team," said Suns President of Basketball Operations Lon Babby. "We are confident that he will upgrade our backcourt now and in the future. He should add scoring to our second unit, which is important to our success."

He was nearly Memphis bound, but Josh McRoberts will remain in Indiana after the Pacers failed to finalize a trade with the Grizzlies that would have sent McRoberts back to the Western Conference for O.J. Mayo.

"All that matters is, the deal didn't happen," Larry Bird, president of basketball operations for the Pacers, told the Indianapolis Star. "I'm disappointed we didn't get something done."

The frustration not to land McRoberts was also felt in Memphis.

"Indiana was not able to get it all together," Heisley said in a telephone interview, as reported by NBA.com. "People are going to say I have reservations (about the proposed trade). I think from our point of view, we were interested in the trade going forward. It was a very, very difficult conversation for us. It took us a long time to decide. We were getting a lot of players at the two and three position and we were getting a little skinny at the four. We had three candidates we were looking at and when we decided on one, O.J. had to be part of that trade. It wasn’t that we were anxious to get rid of him."

Chris Johnson signed a 10-day contract with the Boston Celtics, whose front line was depleted with trading away Kendric Perkins and Semih Erden. No stranger to the Celtics, Johnson was buying his time back in the D-League after being cut by Portland earlier this month.

"We had him in camp," Celtics coach Doc Rivers said before Thursday's tilt against the new-look Denver Nuggets. "He’ll play tonight. He won’t know what he’s doing, but he’ll be out there and he'll be out there early. We needed a body and he can play a little bit. He's been terrific in D-League."

In early February, Johnson told Beyond the Beat that he owed a lot to Danny Ainge and the Celtics - even despite being cut by Boston in traning camp.

"With Boston, they had a whole lot of 'bigs'. He (Ainge) just explained everything that could help me and it has helped a lot. I really didn't get down about it (being cut by the Celtics). I mean, I would have had to beat out Kevin Garnett, so you just have to be realistic."
