The Houston Rockets suspended Aaron Brooks for one game for leaving the court in the fourth quarter of their win over Memphis on Saturday.

Brooks served the suspension against the Denver Nuggets, ramping up even more discontent between the Houston point guard and the Rockets with the NBA trade deadline around the corner.

Talking before the game, Rockets' head coach Rick Adelman said he hadn't spoken with Brooks but added: "What he did was the completely wrong thing to do. He has to suffer the consequences."

Brooks - who is averaging 12.2 points and 4.1 assists per game -  has been frustrated about his diminished role and did not travel with the team to Denver. A number of teams are said to be interested in Brooks, with Houston interested in acquiring an experienced center or forward to strengthen their frontcourt.

According to Newsday's Alan Hahn, the New York Knicks happen to be inquiring about Brooks.

"A source with knowledge of the situation said the Rockets 'are going to try hard' to move Brooks before the Feb. 24 trade deadline. A separate source confirmed that the Knicks are interested," writes Hahn.

Brooks will make $2 million this season and will be a restricted free agent this summer.
