Mickael Pietrus career with the Toronto Raptors isn't going to happen afterall.

Paul Coro with the Arizona Republic detailed the story here with the proposed deal that would have sent Pietrus to Toronto in exchange for a second round pick from the Raptors called off after it was learned Pietrus failed his physical.

Another league source said Pietrus didn't fail his physical, but some in Toronto's organization were concerned with swelling in the forward's right knee after surgery back in July.

For now, Pietrus is still a member of the Phoenix Suns.

Pietrus, 29, missed the final 12 games of the regular season in Phoenix after right knee pain that stemmed from a quadriceps-tendon strain near his right knee.

He underwent surgery after receiving a scope during training camp with the French National Team in July and was unable to play at EuroBasket in Lithuania.

As for Torono, they've already moved on with their free agency flurry signing Gary Forbes, Rasual Butler and Aaron Gray. It's believed they will sign one more free agent in the coming week. Back in Phoenix, Pietrus will battle for minutes and playing time along with newly acquired Shannon Brown, a re-signed Grant Hill, Josh Childress and Jared Dudley. However there remains a good chance the Suns will keep trying to move Pietrus.

One thing is for certain, he's not Toronto bound.
