There was a time very early in his career that you just knew.

After being named Rookie of the Year (1997), on his way to becoming a 4-time scoring champion, an 11-time all-star, and an NBA MVP (’01), you knew Allen Iverson would one day win an NBA title in Philadelphia.

Now we know differently.

Even with all the other accomplishments the 6’0, 180 pound guard racked up in his remarkable career and despite less than memorable experiences in Detroit and Memphis after a mediocre stay in Denver, it looks now as if Iverson’s second time around with the Sixers is drawing to a sudden close, the same likely for his playing days.

For the second time this season, Iverson left the team to tend to his ill 4-year old daughter, and reports indicate Philadelphia may sever ties with Allen.

However, the organization is supporting Iverson’s personal cause at this time saying, “he be allowed to deal with a very serious issue that is far greater than the game of basketball.”

But will Iverson return this season?

Should he return ever?

Forget the void of never winning a title, it is time for Iverson to officially call it a career and focus on his family full time.

That is the real “Answer” here.
