It would have been very easy to feature the typical Dr. J basketball photo, but this one seems to speak volumes when it comes to Black History Month. The history of America’s racial realities aside, this era in the league was a time in the NBA where guys were "men" and apparently grabbing each other by the throat during heated exchanges was common place.
We’ve come to know Julius Irving as the model for which Michael Jordan based his soaring game, but we often forget what a competitor he was – as seen in this exchange with Larry Bird.
