Two weeks ago I reported Patty Mills would be returning to Portland to have his foot injury evaluated, and now an actual date has been set for that appointment.

According to the Canberra Times, Mills is in route to Portland and will have an X-Ray taken of his foot on October 6 in hopes of returning to the floor soon after.

''They've kept in regular contact to see how my foot is going so at least I know they're still keen and interested,'' Mills told the paper, before explaining further his decision to pass up the opportunity to play basketball overseas.

''The goal is to play in the NBA not Europe. There are some offers from overseas clubs, but Portland haven't got rid of me yet so that's good signs and that's where I want to be. It's certainly going to be challenging and ideally Europe is out of the question ... it's more about me marking myself in the NBA and cementing my spot there.''

Will that spot be cemented in Portland - where the Blazers still have a final roster spot open -  and a shot at making the training camp cut?
