If you know anything about Jim Rome, it’s he’s the father of “Jungle Karma”. And with Blazers GM Kevin Pritchard appearing on The Jim Rome Show on Friday afternoon, that radio luck could come in mightly handy with Portland in Houston for Game 3 and 4.
Pritchard will be a guest of Rome’s radio show Friday at 12:30 for those of you on the West Coast. Tune in. If you somehow miss the interview, you can always hit up Van Smack’s website for an audio archive later in the day.
This is actually the second time Rome and Pritchard are teaming up. Back in February, the two discussed making moves with the NBA Trade deadline looming.
Call it a hunch, but the interview will likely include the following:
Rome will surely touch on the Blazers return to the playoffs, the development of Greg Oden and the rising star and maturation of Brandon Roy. And then there is Pritchard – he’ll toss out a typical “Pritchardism” or two.
He’ll talk about players “fitting the culture”.
He’ll say he has the best young coach in the league in Nate McMillan.
He’ll recount his tales with the San Antonio Spurs and how they are a model for the Blazers to emulate.
He’ll refer to Paul Allen as “Mr. Allen” – never Paul Allen, never Paul – always “Mr. Allen”.
And maybe….just maybe…he’ll ask Jim Rome to sprinkle a little “Jungle Karma” on the Blazers against the Rockets.
